Description:

PERSON IN CHARGE

(Social Care Leader/Clinical Nurse Manager 2)
Cork City Area – 1 Permanent Position
West Cork – 1 Position (Fixed Term)
Kanturk – 1 Position (Fixed Term)
The successful applicants will be required to work in progressive and dynamic environments supporting people with an intellectual disability and/or autism. He/she will be required to work as a Person in Charge and will have responsibility for leading teams within this residential setting.
Remuneration:
Salary scales are in line with the HSE Consolidated pay scales for Social Care Leader & Clinical Nurse Manager 2.
Requirements:
Not less than five years post registration experience to include a minimum of three years’ experience in a management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care
Be on the live register of the NMBI (Nursing applicants)
Possess the National Diploma in Childcare awarded by awarded by Quality & Qualifications Ireland, (QQI) (Dearbhu Cáiliochta agus Cáiliochtai Éireann) (formerly HETAC)/DIT.
or
Possess the National Diploma in Applied Social Care Studies awarded by awarded by Quality & Qualifications Ireland, (QQI) (Dearbhu Cáiliochta agus Cáiliochtai Éireann)/DIT.
or
Possess the Diploma in Social Care awarded by awarded by Quality & Qualifications Ireland, (QQI) (Dearbhu Cáiliochta agus Cáiliochtai Éireann) (formerly HETAC)//DIT.
or
Possess the Diploma in Applied Social Studies/Social Care from DIT.
or
Possess a BA (Ord) in Social Care Practice (Level 7 on the QQI framework).
or
Possess Open Training College National Diploma in Applied Social Studies (Disability).

or

  • Possess an equivalent qualification

And

  • Have a management qualification or be willing to undertake an appropriate

course on commencement of employment.

  • Be computer literate
  • Focused on Cope Foundation’s vision around community based, self-

directed, rights-based supports for people

  • Be adaptable and flexible in their approach to the working environment
  • Ability to develop a person-centred culture, focused on individualised

supports

  • A comprehensive knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, including team leadership

and team working, time management, budget management, negotiation

and conflict resolution skills.

  • An ability to organise, manage and motivate people and to liaise with

Parents/Families and Stakeholders

  • Good working knowledge of relevant policy particularly “A time to move on

from congregated settings”

  • A full driver’s licence is essential with access to own vehicle

The normal working hours will be 37.5/39 hours per week (depending on qualification) however, flexible hours, including participating in a duty roster is involved.
