About the role
We are looking for reliable, caring and compassionate Personal Care Assistants (PCA) to bring joy to our resident’s day who can:
Commit to 6 shifts a fortnight on a permanent part-time basis.
3+ years of experience in an aged care setting preferably working with Dementia care & Palliative care support
Have unrestricted work rights

WORKING AS PART OF A FRIENDLY AND CLOSE-KNIT TEAM, YOU WILL:

  • Provide high quality support and care according to the Care Plan and resident’s preference and strengths.
  • Apply person-centred care approaches to all interactions with residents
  • Consider the resident’s individual needs, stage of life, development and strengths when engaging in support activities
  • Actively participate in the implementation of Aged Care and Quality Standards to enhance resident choice and quality of living
  • Conduct interpersonal exchanges in a manner that promotes empowerment and develops and maintains trust and goodwill

    O’Neill House has been designed to ensure family and friends can maintain their caring role in this comfortable home, while supporting activities that bring meaning, connection and enjoyment.
    This opportunity is perfect for someone who is looking for flexible working hours – we are able to offer a minimum of 3 days per week for morning, afternoon and evening shifts over a 7-day roster.

Skills & experience

  • Certificate III in Aged Care, Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing Specialisation), or equivalent and/or Certificate IV in Aged Care, Certificate IV in Ageing Support
  • Previous experience working in an aged care facility in a similar role
  • Patience; common sense and a strong ethos of client service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships and work within a team
