JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a skilled Injury Claims Handler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling motor injury claims, managing and processing claims efficiently and accurately to ensure customer satisfaction and that at all times deadlines and quality standards are met.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years’ experience in insurance claims, handling injury claims.
- Knowledge of contracts of insurance, particularly injury claims.
- Preferably have experience in a range of supporting claims skills like recoveries and investigations.
- Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Takes ownership and responsibility.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Completed APA, CIP or a relevant insurance qualification to meet MCC requirements.
- Experience in litigated claims an advantage
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of Injury claims from notification through to settlement, determining coverage and liability exposure.
- Proactively set accurate and consistent evidence based reserves and perform regular reserve reviews.
- Bring an advance technical claims knowledge across both motor damage and bodily injury claims.
- Negotiate claim settlements with claimants and/or their legal representatives where applicable.
- Providing policyholders with information about their coverage and the claims process.
- Coordinating with other members of the claims department to ensure a smooth claims experience.
- Maintaining accurate records of claims and customer communications.
- Recognising potential fraudulent claims and refer them to the appropriate department for investigation.
- Engaging in continuous training to keep up to date with company procedures, industry standards, and legal changes.
- Communicate with policyholders, witnesses, and claimants to gather pertinent information providing a positive service to our customers.
- Coordinate with insurance adjusters, appraisers, investigators, and other professionals to evaluate insurance claims.
- Maintain accurate and detailed claim files.
- Provide excellent customer service to policyholders and ensure all inquiries and issues are resolved promptly.
- Stay updated on Irish insurance regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with the team to meet department goals and objectives.
- Support the OUT claims team in ensuring they comply with company quality standards and CBI regulations.
