POSITION SUMMARY…

To administer the store people practices and processes in a timely and professional manner, while maintaining confidentiality at all times. The Personnel Manager is a Cultural Champion within the Store, provides Dedicated People Support, informs on a large breadth of Administrative and Compliance functions, and supports the implementation and ongoing success of our Self Serve Enablement processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a cultural champion in the branch to ensure that all celebrations and events organized are coordinated (e.g., CAF events, recognition program celebrations, cultural awareness events, holiday celebrations, charity committee, etc.). Ensure that all communication boards are up-to-date with all information on human resources programs, benefits and support resources.
  2. Defend the “Here is the Place” initiative, the Promise to Associates and take part in recognition activities. Act as a resource person for Open Door matters and brief associates on guidelines, practices and programs, as well as benefits and payroll.
  3. Co-facilitate orientation sessions; Provide support to organize panel discussions and AES activities to ensure that associates have the opportunity to attend meetings and respond to surveys.
  4. Coordinate recruitment planning for key seasons with the management team by monitoring roster guidelines; Communicate all benefits re-enrollment activities and refer associates to the Walmart Benefits Centre for answers to their questions and support.
  5. Ensure that associates sign up for Paperless Pay direct deposit on the day of orientation; Provide support to management by monitoring and reviewing attendance reports. Conduct follow-up calls for reported absences and assist in calling associates to find sufficient staff for critical shifts set by the management team.
  6. Request a Record of Employment for associates on leave of absence and at the onset of loss of earnings.
    Assist associates in making changes to the time stamp, PPM processes and self-service tasks as required.
  7. Review and monitor PPM exception reports to identify and provide management with information regarding associates who do not take meal breaks, clock in late or leave early, regularly make clocking errors, or work long shifts to follow up with management; print approved weekly schedules and ensure they are posted. Classify completed schedules in the 52-week file; Coordinate the training of new partners and ensure that partners who change positions complete the required training. Assist the Branch Manager in planning and enrolling management in required training programs.
  8. Provides training and directs the day-to-day activities of support staff in the personnel office.‎
