JOB OVERVIEW:

The Pharmacy Technician assists in the provision of pharmaceutical services under the direct supervision of the Registered Pharmacist by performing the technical, clerical, and manipulative tasks involved in dispensing, preparing, and distributing all medications and pharmaceutical products for all patient age groups and maintaining statistical records. The overnight pharmacy technician position is a 7 day on/7 day off scheduled position. Initial training is during the weekdays on the daytime shifts before transitioning to the overnight.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• New Jersey registered or registration eligible,
• One year previous pharmacy experience in a hospital setting is preferred, and/or pharmacy technician training course

Preferred:

• PTCB certification preferred

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:

• Night Shift
• Full-Time schedule (40 hours per week)
• 7 Days on and 7 days off

• The position is also responsible for identifying and reporting hazardous environments or safety issues and medical errors to appropriate personnel
• The position is also responsible for any other assigned tasks, as appropriate
