YOUR PROFILE
We are looking for a PhD candidate with excellent practical and theoretical skills and a strong interest in cell biological aspects of neurodegenerative diseases. The successful applicant should hold a Master in cell biology or related fields. Experience in research on neurodegenerative diseases, virology, cell-based screening assays and/or image analysis would be an advantage. The candidate should be able to work independently and have excellent team working skills. A written and oral command of English is essential.
Responsibilities:
with a focus on disease mechanisms of self-templating protein aggregates.
The laboratory led by Prof. Ina Vorberg studies cellular mechanisms of protein misfolding and intercellular spreading of pathologic protein aggregates associated with neurodegenerative diseases. We perform biochemical and cell biological analyses and use state-of-the-art technology such as automated image-based high content screening (Liu et al., Nat Commun 2021, doi.org/10.1038/s41467-021-25855-2; Liu et al., Nat Commun 2023, doi.org/10.1038/s41467-023-40632-z).
