Description:
In the lab, we work on a range of cross-cutting economic topics such as inequality, fairness and just views, justice, decision-making by individuals or political decision-makers, and (almost) all aspects of economic development. We use state-of-the-art quantitative methods, ranging from quasi-experimental and experimental methods, including field, lab, and survey experiments, to machine learning. We also specialize in uncovering new insights from unconventional data sources, especially geospatial data derived from contemporary satellites and historical sources.
We are currently eight researchers and are looking for team members who value high-quality research, have a strong drive to develop and advance their own research agenda, and actively participate in our lab activities. Our Political Economy of Global Development Lab offers diverse work in a research-oriented team and its own research budget (for APs/PostDocs), support through research assistants, an excellent regional and international network (e.g., for research stays abroad), seminars and workshops, active mentoring, and family-friendly working conditions.
