About the laboratory
The Laboratory of Adaptive Immunity and Homeostasis uses multi-disciplinary approaches to address fundamental questions in health. One particular focus is studies of the cellular processes and molecular interplay underlying the functions of the two most abundant proteins in blood, albumin and antibodies. Such knowledge offers opportunities for development of novel concepts for tailored design of protein-based therapeutics with favorable transport properties combined with the ability to efficiently bind and eradicate the target.
The head of the laboratory has obtained the Fridtjof Nansen Prize for Early Career Achievements and Oslo University Hospital Early Career Award. The laboratory is part of the Centre of Excellence called Precision Immunotherapy Alliance (PRIMA), and is part of UiO FOCIS Centre of Excellence, which aims to develop and support research activities on clinical immunology in Oslo, and has a Visiting Professor Program and a Guest Lecturer Program.
The laboratory has an eye on translational research, is highly innovative and is collaborating extensively with a growing life science ecosystem in Norway, national and international academic laboratories, non-profit organizations as well as biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
