The research group investigates the visual and motor system in human and nonhuman primates for basic and translational research. The PhD student will be part of a team with a diverse background working a range of research projects with the aim of bringing basic research findings to patients.

Responsibilities

The PhD project is funded by the European Union (EIC Pathfinder grant HYPERSTIM) and involves:

  • electrophysiological recordings and microstimulation in visual cortex
  • functional imaging during microstimulation
  • behavioral measurements during microstimulation

Profiel

  • master degree in biomedical sciences, medicine, biomedical engineering, biology or other related disciplines
  • knowledge of Matlab and Python is a plus
  • good communication skills and ability to work in a team
