The research group investigates the visual and motor system in human and nonhuman primates for basic and translational research. The PhD student will be part of a team with a diverse background working a range of research projects with the aim of bringing basic research findings to patients.

Responsibilities
The PhD project is funded by the European Union (EIC Pathfinder grant HYPERSTIM) and involves:
- electrophysiological recordings and microstimulation in visual cortex
- functional imaging during microstimulation
- behavioral measurements during microstimulation
Profiel
- master degree in biomedical sciences, medicine, biomedical engineering, biology or other related disciplines
- knowledge of Matlab and Python is a plus
- good communication skills and ability to work in a team
