YOUR SKILLS

  • MSc. or comparable level in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, polymer chemistry or related studies
  • Strong communication skills in English language required, German language is a plus
  • Very good MS Office application knowledge
  • General understanding of polymers and adhesives
  • Hands-on experience with reactive chemistries like polyurethanes or epoxys is a plus
  • Self-motivated, creative, and open-minded team-player with high level of independence

Responsibilities:

  • Develop novel polyurethane and alternative reactive adhesive formulations for an exciting new project targeting the Wind industry
  • Pick suitable building blocks and prepare prepolymers, when needed
  • Formulate and characterize reactive adhesives, e.g. viscosity and rheology, density, pot life, hardness, tensile material properties, DSC, DMA, adhesion
  • Drive Scale-ups in Henkel heavy labs and pilot plants
  • Support application testings at project partners and record laboratory tasks and results in an electronic format
  • Regularly compile and present your results and challenges in front of project partners and internal stakeholders
  • Keep close interaction to project partners outside Henkel, this includes face-to-face meetings within Germany
  • Adopt and respect SHEQ and 5S standards
