Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Philanthropic Marketing Analyst will function as the key liaison with the third-party vendor, Education Advisory Board (EAB). The Analyst will facilitate effective communication, provide insights into SDSU’s brand, alumni community, and campus events, and collaborate with EAB to develop innovative strategies that align with SDSU’s goals and values. Will coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure successful execution of partnership initiatives. This position will focus on executing digital solicitation, engagement, and stewardship tactics in support of annual giving efforts, as well as establish recent graduate giving strategies. Duties include developing, launching, and reporting on the SDSU Day of Giving, recent graduate philanthropy outreach, and additional digital campaigns.
This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
This position is approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego.
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY
University Relations and Development (URAD) shares the university’s vision and mission underscored in the 2020 five-year strategic plan. Units of URAD work together to create enduring relationships with alumni, parents, donors, students, and the community to generate private support for SDSU students, faculty, and a diverse number of programs. URAD handles a range of services encompassing stewardship, events, gift administration, communications and more. URAD departments are making a difference in the lives of SDSU’s 37,000 students.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous fundraising and/or annual giving experience, preferably in a higher-education setting.
- Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects and timelines efficiently.
- Advanced knowledge of marketing and fundraising best practices, including prospect and donor behavior.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
