Securitas Security Services are currently recruiting a Physical Security Monitoring Centre Operator to be based at Mastercard, Technology Hub for Europe in Leopardstown, Dublin 18.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and additional education or certifications in security, law enforcement, or related fields are preferred.
  • Proven experience in security operations, preferably in a control room or operations centre environment.
  • Strong understanding of security system technologies, including CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to make quick and sound decisions under pressure in high-stress situations.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to collaboration and cooperation.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to security operations and surveillance.Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and software for security monitoring, incident reporting, and record-keeping.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and monitor security systems continuously.
  • Capability to operate and navigate through various security control systems and equipment.Willingness to work in rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Security Systems: Utilise CCTV cameras, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and other security technologies to monitor and maintain situational awareness of the organisation’s premises.
  • Respond to Alarms and Incidents: Promptly respond to security alarms, incidents, and emergencies, including unauthorised access, breaches, disturbances, and medical emergencies.
  • Coordinate Security Response: Coordinate with security personnel, law enforcement agencies, and emergency services to respond effectively to security incidents and emergencies, ensuring the safety of personnel and assets.
  • Conduct Investigations: Conduct preliminary investigations into security incidents, gather evidence, and document findings to support follow-up actions and resolutions.
  • Maintain Records: Maintain accurate and detailed records of security events, incidents, and actions taken, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate clearly and effectively with security personnel, colleagues, management, and external stakeholders to provide updates, report incidents, and resolve security issues.
  • Provide Support: Provide support and guidance to security personnel and employees on security procedures, protocols, and best practices, promoting a culture of security awareness and compliance.
  • Monitor Threats and Risks: Stay informed about potential security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks to the organisation’s assets and operations, and take proactive measures to mitigate these risks.
  • Maintain Operational Readiness: Ensure the readiness and functionality of security equipment, systems, and facilities through regular testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Travel Risk Management: Involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks associated with travel to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of travellers. It encompasses various measures such as pre-travel preparation, risk assessment, emergency response planning, communication protocols, and ongoing monitoring to minimise or address risks during travel. The goal is to protect travellers, maintain business continuity, and fulfil the duty of care obligations.
