Description:

Organizes and conducts therapy services to patients. Facilitates program development. Assists with professional growth of staff therapist, techs/aides and students. Reports to Clinical Coordinator.

  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Performs duties of a Occupational/Physical therapist as required, including full patient load.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and professional affiliations.
  • Serves as a Clinical Instructor for Occupational/Physical therapy/Therapy Assistant Students under the leadership of the CCCE.
  • Conducts internal training programs for medical and nursing staff on Physical/Occupational therapy techniques and objectives.
  • Serves as a resource to the nursing community and other disciplines.
  • Assist in the development of quality Occupational/Physical therapy programs.
  • Coordinates special projects/assignments that contribute to the department goals and professional growth of the department.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Supervises Rehabilitation Technicians and Aides appropriately Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Education: Graduate of an approved professional program in Physical Therapy.
Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience as a therapist in an appropriate area of practice.
Special Skills: Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures.
License/ Cert.: Registration and current licensure in Mississippi.
