How you make a difference:
The Physician is responsible for assessing and providing medical care to patients in collaboration with the Nurse Manager- Health Services & PI and ARNPs, and ensuring the smooth flow of consultations and referrals between medical staff. This position also includes on-call responsibilities for the provision of medical care outside of regular business hours. The physician must ensure timely and accurate documentation of all assessments and treatment decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs physical exams, orders diagnostic tests and provides medical treatments to patients throughout their hospital stay, including after-hours on-call coverage.
  • Coordinates with other medical staff to ensure accurate and thorough documentation of all assessments and provides clinical oversight of ARNPs.
  • Makes referrals for tests and consultations, monitors ongoing care of medical conditions, and provides education on medical diagnoses to patients and their families.
  • Collaborates effectively with staff from other disciplines and is knowledgeable about the care and treatment needs of patients of different ages.
  • Adheres to company Code of Conduct Standards and understands and complies with special precautions, disaster and fire safety procedures, and abuse reporting.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • Medical doctorate (MD) from an accredited university.

Experience

  • Two (2) years post residency clinical experience in an inpatient setting, psychiatric experience referred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Licensed in the state of employment.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications.
  • Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine.
