Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution, and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for a full-time faculty position to join the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine as a physician scientist at any rank (assistant, associate or full professor). Appointees will maintain a productive research program and provide direct patient care. We are interested in applicants in the following areas of scientific investigation and clinical subspecialties: pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease, COPD/asthma, sleep-disordered breathing, or critical care research. The focus can be on clinical, translational or basic science research. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous start up package) are dependent upon qualifications. There is divisional and departmental support for establishing a robust research program for the appointee. There are ample opportunities to collaborate with Rush scientists in other divisions and departments.
The qualified candidate will join the growing team of 28 faculty members in the Division. Teaching and supervising medical students, residents and fellows will be an important educational activity as RUSH has an ACGME-accredited Pulm/CC fellowship with 4 fellows per year (total of 12 fellows), an ACGME-accredited Critical Care fellowship with 2 fellows per year (total of 4 fellows), and an ACGME-accredited Sleep Medicine fellowship (2 fellows per year).
