JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a compassionate and trauma-informed physiotherapist to join our team on a contract basis. The primary focus of this role is to provide specialized massage therapy services to clients seeking mental health support. We are not looking for conventional massage therapists; rather, we need professionals who can integrate physiotherapy practices that complement our clients’ journey towards holistic well-being.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Certification or licensure as a physiotherapist from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing as a massage or physiotherapist, preferably with training in trauma-informed care.
- Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed approaches to massage therapy and their application in mental health care.
- Able to commit to a minimum of 10 consultation sessions per week.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients in a compassionate and supportive manner.
- Commitment to providing a safe and empowering experience for clients, respecting their boundaries and autonomy.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays, to accommodate client schedules.Passion for holistic wellness and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals facing mental incapacitation.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with our team of psychologists, counsellors, and other wellness professionals to integrate massage therapy into clients’ holistic treatment plans.
- Able to offer 1-to-1 sessions at the Client’s location or at the therapist’s current clinic (where available)
- Conduct thorough assessments to understand clients’ physical and emotional needs, including any history of trauma or mental health concerns.
- Develop personalized massage therapy treatment plans that address clients’ mental incapacitation and promote overall well-being.
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to relax and release tension, incorporating trauma-informed techniques and approaches.
- Offer guidance and support to clients as they process emotions and sensations that arise during massage sessions.
- Adapt massage techniques to meet the individual needs and preferences of clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Provide education and resources to clients on self-care practices and techniques to support their mental and physical wellness.Stay informed about current research and best practices in trauma-informed massage therapy and mental health.
