JOB SUMMARY

The job purpose of a Journeyman Pipefitter is to use their specialized skills and knowledge to install, maintain, and repair piping systems in a safe and efficient manner, contributing to the success of construction, plumbing, and industrial projects. They play a critical role in ensuring that these systems operate effectively and reliably. A good pipe fitter should also be aware of all the safety precautions they need to take when using these tools and know how to maintain a safe working environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 year’s experience.
  • Possession of a Journeyman Pipefitter Certification
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Must be fit-for-duty.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Must be immediately eligible/able to work in Canada.
  • Must be able to provide clean Canadian criminal record check (within 30 days of hire)

Responsibilities:

  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, assemble and install metal tubing, pipes, pipe sections, valves, and fittings.
  • Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required.
  • Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Read and interpret client and company-supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications.
  • Multi discipline scope which includes HDPF fusing along with tie in’s and bolt up.
