Do you possess a passion for crafting intricate piping systems that play a vital role in the efficiency of testing operations? MDS, a world leader in the design and construction of gas turbine engine test equipment and facilities, has a requirement for a Piping Design -Technologist.
As a Piping Designer, you will be at the forefront of conceptualizing and designing fluid systems crucial to our testing process. Your expertise will ensure the seamless flow of fluids, contributing significantly to the precision and accuracy of our testing operations.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ideally looking for 4-9 years of relevant experience.
  • Piping Design primarily to ASME B31.3.
  • Expertise in Plant-3D (P3D)
  • Proficiency in 2D drawing software, particularly AutoDesk AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with file management software, such as AutoDesk Vault.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Strong working knowledge of PC hardware and software, including Windows, Word, and Excel.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology from a recognized college.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in facility planning, equipment layout, pipe routing and the detailed design of skid-mounted fluid systems.
  • Be involved in the development and management of designs from the conceptual stage through fabrication and installation.
  • Managing and providing technical support to manufacturers.
  • Be responsible for the production of detailed drawings (P&ID’s, ISO’s and Ortho).
  • Expertly perform component selection and input into Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and various stakeholders to ensure that designs align with project requirements and objectives.
  • Actively participate in design reviews, collaborating with the team to identify and resolve design challenges.
  • Maintain responsibility for drawing presentation, accuracy, and the determination of the required level of detail for efficient manufacturing.
  • Mentor and provide peer reviews for other designers, fostering knowledge sharing and growth.
  • Offer technical support to various departments within the organization, including manufacturing, sales, and customer support.
