Description:

On behalf of our client we are seeking a highly skilled Piping & Layout Engineer who will play a pivotal role in analyzing and assessing the stress levels of piping systems. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring compliance with stringent standards and guidelines, while collaborating closely with various disciplines to achieve optimal design solutions. Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify and select stress critical lines from Process P&IDs based on NORSOK guidelines.
  • Perform comprehensive stress analysis on critical piping systems on an offshore oil & gas platform such as compressor and pump lines, flare systems, flow-lines etc by use of Caesar II software.
  • Through visual checks or by hand calculations, identify flexibility and pipe support requirements for non-critical lines.
  • Perform detailed checking of calculations made by other stress engineers.
  • Maintain close cooperation with other disciplines such as piping layout, pipe supports, structural, construction etc in implementing an optimal design.
  • Perform calculations and qualify various piping components including flanges, fittings and nozzles as per relevant standards such as ASME, API, NEMA-SM23.
  • Perform dynamic calculations involving slugging, surge, fatigue.
  • Perform screening exercises for potential vibrations in all systems and implement mitigating solutions.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor or Master degree

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Min. 10 years of relevant experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of several required standards such as API, ASME, NEMA-SM23, etc.
  • Good knowledge and experience in Norwegian standards such as NORSOK and DNV.
  • Good knowledge of Equinor and/or AkerBP requirements is an advantage.
  • Good multi discipline understanding.
  • Cooperative working attitude and acceptance of multicultural working teams.
  • Good English communication skills required
