EDUCATION:
- University degree in Environmental Science, Earth Science or Civil Engineering- related disciplines.
- Accreditation as a P. Geo. or P. Eng. is a preferred asset for this position, but not a requirement.
The successful candidate will have knowledge in the following areas:
- Geo-environmental investigations: geotechnical, excess soil and hydrogeological.
- Phase I and II environmental site assessment and remediation.
- O. Reg. 406/19 On-Site and Excess Soil Management and
- O. Reg. 153/04 Record of Site Condition
- Federal and provincial environmental regulations.
- Environmental due diligence for mergers and acquisitions of real estate assets.
- Civil environmental topics such as subsurface drainage systems, oil water separators, overland flow principles, contaminant fate and transport modelling.
- Spill response techniques and technologies.
- Designated substance and hazardous material (DSHM) surveys, PCBs, mold, and asbestos abatement.
- Project management life cycle.
- Electrical power system, transmission, and distribution equipment.
- Environmental economics.
- Contract process and documents, work plans, presentations, and technical reports.
Experience:
The successful candidate will have minimum of two years’ experience assisting or managing the following areas:
- Soil and groundwater sampling.
- DSHM surveys.
- Geo-environmental investigations.
- Phase I and II environmental site assessments and remediation.
- Work plan, specification, and report preparation.
- Technical report review.
