Description:

Job reference: 590034
Location: 5606 - PORT LINCOLN
Job status: Ongoing

Eligibility: Open to Everyone

  • Are you passionate about sustainable development, planning and landscape management?
  • Would you like to work with primary producers, land managers, community, and industry groups right across our community?
  • If you’d like to join a great team and play an important role in delivering valuable landscape outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board is looking for a talented expert to provide professional advice and services to support the management of Eyre Peninsula’s landscapes and Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board initiatives.
This is a critical area for the Board, with responsibility for providing high quality responses to referrals and other relevant matters relating to development, planning and landscape management. The role provides valuable input into the development and maintenance of plans and strategies underpinning the management of landscapes on the Eyre Peninsula.
Success in this role will require the capacity to build and maintain strong relationships, a keen understanding of GIS, strong project management skills, and experience in providing accurate advice using ecological science to support effective decision-making when it comes to landscape and natural resource management.
It’s a role that offers abundant autonomy, variety, and challenge, while providing opportunity for the successful candidates to flex their full range of skills. The role is based in Port Lincoln in modern, well-equipped offices and in a workplace that embraces flexible conditions, including work from home arrangements.

ABOUT US

The Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board works with community, industry, and other government agencies to sustainably manage our region’s natural resources, with an emphasis on protection and restoration of our soil, water management, biodiversity, and pest plant and animal control.
The Eyre Peninsula region covers approximately 80,000 square kilometres and includes part of the upper Spencer Gulf, the city of Whyalla, across the southern boundaries of the Gawler Ranges, past Ceduna to the edge of the Nullarbor Plain and south to the fishing hub of Port Lincoln. The Eyre Peninsula supports a population of just under 60,000 people and is the traditional lands of First Nations peoples.
Other key functions include development of water allocation plans for prescribed water resources, where applicable, and operating as the relevant authority for a range of water, land protection and animal and plant control activities.
