The primary purpose of the Planning and Production Officer is to support Fulfilment Operations in Planning the weekly Production and Labour whilst maintaining and enhancing packing quality
standards within our distribution centres.
This includes ensuring daily/WEEKLY targets are met, overseeing the smooth operation of kitting and assembly lines and driving process improvements.
The role also requires effective people and system management skills to uphold the company’s quality and safety standards.

You will…

  • Manage forecasts and convert into a Daily & Weekly Production Plan, in order to optimise labour, stock and production lines
  • Be responsible for the production planning and the execution of the S&OP Supply Plan
  • Generate and analyse weekly and monthly KPIs for all aspects of the Operations function - identifying key trends and issues and contribute to planning targets for the site
  • Work closely with the Production leaders in relation to efficiency, plan attainment, changeovers, and flexibility
  • Support Marketing / R&D in projects and upcoming product changes
  • Support Materials planning requirements when holiday / sickness cover is required
  • To contribute significantly to the achievement of 100% service level for the site whilst achieving a cost effective finished goods and material stock level
  • Support the APM in leading a team of Production Supervisors, Coordinators, Line Leaders, and Associates.
  • Cultivate and enhance a high-performing culture, emphasising safety, GMP, quality, employee engagement, and continuous improvement in the exception of the Production Plan
  • Set targets and drive continuous improvement in Efficiency & Cost
  • Collaborate with Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to develop production plans focused on freshness, on-time delivery, and plan reliability.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by engaging peers, team members and stakeholders in identifying opportunities, conducting root-cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and delivering positive change.
  • Create a positive team environment prioritising safety, accountability, respect, continuous learning, and promoting open communication and candid feedback.
  • Attend National Business Review Meetings and Capacity Management Meetings

Daily Coordination and Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate closely with the APM/Inventory Manager & FSQA Lead to synchronise daily activities and objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Site Manager to prepare Annual Budgets
  • Collaborate closely with the Site Manager to review Production Plans to support NPDs
  • (New Product Development) and mitigate variances to Cost per Box (especially during low volume periods)
  • Ensure that food quality and company standards are consistently met, maintaining a high standard of quality.

Production Process Management:

  • Take responsibility for the smooth and efficient operation of both kitting and assembly lines to meet daily production targets.
  • Exhibit strong managerial skills to oversee people, processes and systems effectively.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance processes and productivity.
  • Identify and address issues and potential challenges on the warehouse floor, seeing practical solutions.

Detail Oriented and Motivated:

  • Demonstrate keen attention to detail and a high level of motivation to meet and exceed production goals.

You have…

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in sciences, engineering, supply chain, logistics, or business.
  • 2+ years relevant experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of practical statistics for process control and analysis purposes
  • Advanced excel skills are an absolute must (demonstrable)
  • Ability to reason logically and present findings in an orderly fashion
  • Ability to prioritise and understand the bigger picture within the site e.g. the total process flow
  • Ability to communicate with and influence on Operational matters
  • Highly organised and detail oriented
  • Self-starter who’s able to excel in an autonomous environment
  • Expert level experience with MS-Excel and Google Sheets
  • Experience with Lean Management or Six Sigma Techniques (preferable)

GMP and H&S:

  • Participate and comply with all HelloFresh Health and Safety procedures and communications, inductions, training, signage, safe work instructions and PPE requirements taking responsibility for your own health and safety and the safety of others at the workplace.
  • Participate and comply with HelloFresh GMP standards for food safety by following all instructions and restrictions for entering and working in the production environment at a distribution centre.
