Description:

Adecco is currently seeking an experienced and strategic Planning Department Head for EV Battery Launch. Based in St Thomas, ON, this full-time role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and optimization of battery cell mass production processes globally. The successful candidate will lead a team, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful launch of cutting-edge EV battery technologies.

Responsibilities: As the Planning Department Head for EV Battery Launch, you will:

  • Strategically plan and monitor projects, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Implement global factory standardization strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Lead mid and long-term investment plans for equipment and production processes.
  • Oversee equipment design, production processes, and capacity planning optimization.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for project goals and progress.
  • Lead teams in equipment FAT/SAT, commissioning, ramp-up, and problem-solving.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects for CapEx and OpEx reduction.
  • Communicate with global teams to exchange project goals and progress.
  • Improve manufacturing processes to meet key performance indicators.
  • Ensure financial and personnel budgets compliance within legal guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field.
  • 10+ years in battery cell mass production.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience with multi-national teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of battery cell production processes and equipment design.
  • Experience in managing major capital budgets (>100M$) with high cost awareness.
  • Proficient in problem-solving methodologies (6D, PDCA, 4M1E).
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (30-40%).
  • Advanced degree (master/doctoral) in relevant engineering field.
  • Prior experience in statistical analysis for battery cell production.
  • Experience in international logistics and container shipment.
  • Significant experience in change management.
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
