Description:
BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE TOMORROW
KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall. We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site found in Plymouth and we are seeking a Planning Engineer. The role will suit a mix of project and site-based work, with some travelling, sometimes working autonomously to fulfill the role and planning requirements of the project.
Due to the site being a high-security military navy base, additional security checks will need to be made - BPSS/SC level of security clearance is required. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU & NATO member passports and have at least 5 years UK Residency can be considered for this role.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The role typically requires the following; however, training and mentoring will be given:
- A qualification in civil engineering or construction to HND level or equivalent
- Previous experience and a sound knowledge of construction techniques, with a good commercial and contractual acumen.
- A Planning Engineer looking for next career step.
- Comfortable in client facing situations.
- A demonstrable ability to develop, own and drive programmes, along with managing sub-contractor programmes.
- A clear ability for logical thinking and working in an ordered fashion.
- Experience and understanding of planning techniques.
- The ability to communicate effectively.
- Capability in the use of some standard planning software, (preferably P6) and 4D software – training/support will be available as and when required.
- Knowledgeable in use of design software (CAD and Civils 3D, Revit), able to read & interrogate 3D models.
- The ability to work to defined, often challenging, timescales.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships on projects and interface with operational teams.
- Commercial awareness
- Must be able to pass all National Security checks for MOD facilities.
