Looking for an experienced Plant Batcher Operator - Burleigh Heads
About the Role
We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a dedicated Plant Operator to join our high performing and committed asphalt team. As the newest member of our team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our asphalt mobile and fixed plant equipment.
The Batcher at an asphalt plant plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper mixture of materials for asphalt production. Here’s an overview of their job role:
- Material Preparation: The Batcher is responsible for preparing the materials needed for asphalt production. This involves measuring and gathering the necessary aggregates, sand, filler, and bitumen according to the specific mix design required for the project.
- Weighing and Mixing: They operate equipment to accurately weigh the materials based on the mix design specifications. This typically involves using scales and automated batching systems to ensure precise measurements.
- Quality Control: The Batcher monitors the quality of materials being used in the asphalt mix, ensuring that they meet the required standards and specifications. They may conduct visual inspections and perform tests to verify the consistency and quality of the mix.
- Maintaining Records: Keeping accurate records of materials used, batch quantities, and production rates is an essential part of the Batcher’s role. This documentation helps track production efficiency, troubleshoot any issues, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshooting: In case of any deviations from the desired mix or equipment malfunctions, the Batcher is responsible for troubleshooting and making necessary adjustments to maintain the quality and consistency of the asphalt mix.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and procedures is paramount in asphalt production. The Batcher must ensure that all operations are conducted safely and in accordance with relevant regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.

The Batcher may need to relay information about mix requirements, production schedules, and any issues that arise during the batching process.
To Be Considered We Are Seeking The Below
- Current Driver Licence
- White Card
- RII Loader (preferred)
- RII Bobcat (preferred)
- Proven loading experience in a yard, plant and/or quarry environment.
- Excellent computer aptitude and willingness to learn to batch
- Happy to work a rotating roster.
