Description:

PLANT CONNECTIVITY MANAGER,

will be responsible for leading and ensuring stable connection of plant data to centralized servers including Cloud server. Responsibilities include ability to connect with a Plant OPC servers or other such protocols (like Modbus, TCP-IP, IEC etc) and then bring the data to a centralized location. Also should possess thorough knowledge and understanding on how to troubleshoot data transmission losses and the ability to overcome such issues in minimum possible time.

  • Closely support and interface with plant personnel, system owners, system specialists, and engineering personnel, as well as subject matter experts in support organizations or elsewhere, to assess anomalies in the data transmission/data losses, identify and classify the associated risks to the plant, issue recommendations, and engage in achieving the resolutions in a minimum possible time
  • Follow up and lead the project for the plant data connectivity issues/aspects and ensure project timeline is respected, highlight and escalate delays in advance.
  • Monitor data health for centralized data with the goal of improving fleet performance.
  • Master all aspects of the plant Data connectivity and ensure that down time related to such events remains as low as possible.
  • Engage with third party solution providers to sort out any data connectivity issues at the earliest
  • Devise and implement a plan on how to keep the system availability at its maximum from data connectivity perspective
  • Prepare budget for his area of responsibility and provide assistance in preparing the overall department/function budget. Be responsible and accountable for meeting/exceeding the P/L budget.
  • Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with all stake holders including but not limited to site personnel, regional, cluster and central teams, external vendors and ACWA Power personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Manage the effective achievement of the his and his team’s objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing the team and providing formal and informal feedback to maximize overall performance, engagement and motivation.

SKILLS

  • Thorough knowledge of power and water plant operations/maintenance or other such similar industry
  • Strong working knowledge of different data connectivity aspects, including but not limited to data servers, data application, cloud computing, communication protocols (like OPC, IEC, Modbus, TCP-IP etc.
  • Extensive operational experience and knowledge in all aspects of power plant control system equipment and systems operations.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience using data historians (OIS) and other software tools to analyze and troubleshoot problems.
  • Proficient in engineering theories and principles.
  • Working knowledge of troubleshooting Power Plant Operational/maintenance issues related to data connectivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet commitments while managing multiple objectives and projects
  • Able to prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, and documentation for resolution of technical problems utilizing Fossil’s/Renewable and water desalination OEM process.
  • Proven ability to prioritize conditions based on risks and consequences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork
