Description:

THE PROJECT

UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink’s delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland’s North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid. The project scope includes:

  • 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden
  • 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry
  • 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa, up to six new substation sites.

This exciting project will commence construction in 2024 and we are currently looking for an experienced Plant Coordinator to join the team based in Brisbane.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the mobilisation and demobilisation of light & heavy plant and parts to and from various project sites.
  • Liaise with project managers and site supervisors to ensure adequate plant and parts are available for each project.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule for plant and equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor and track the performance and usage of plant and equipment and provide reports to management on utilisation, and consumable use.
  • Manage inventory levels of plant and parts and order new equipment as needed.
  • Manage the supply and control of bulk fuel dispensing from tanks and trailers
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, statutory requirements, and proper maintenance of all equipment, both internal plant and subcontractor plant (external).
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for equipment purchases, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Keep accurate records of all plant and equipment transactions and maintenance.
  • Research and recommend new equipment and technologies that could improve efficiency and productivity.
