Description:

Our client, a prominent listed German manufacturer in the consumer goods industry, is globally recognized for its brands and cutting-edge technologies across two thriving business units. With nearly 53,000 employees, the company is undergoing significant transformation, stemming from the recent integration of two major corporate divisions into a unified FMCG sector. In alignment with their mission for a more modernized Factory Production Setup worldwide, our client is actively seeking a dynamic “Plant Director” (f/m/d) for the second-largest plant in the DACH region. This strategic hire, prompted by the retirement of the current incumbent, presents a unique opportunity to lead and shape the long-term success of this pivotal manufacturing facility.

Tasks

  • Manages all operations as well as service / support department at factory level
  • Implements a long-term production strategy to ensure efficient production and high quality products
  • Delivers against plant performance KPIs, budget and projects
  • Sets up and executes development plans for plant personnel
  • Ensures operations processes and solutions are implemented according to global procedures and local regulations
  • Ensures that all legal requirements and corporate standards are in place and in compliance
  • Has legal responsibility for fulfilling SHEQ requirements
  • Acts as company representative and key contact for local authorities and workers unions / councils in the area of responsibility
  • Responsible for the Investment plan, Capex application and Fix Assest accounting
  • Responsible for application of Corporate Standards in the area of responsibility
  • Responsible for application of all programs in HPS to steer the OEE in a continuous improvement approach

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree advantageous
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in plant management or a comparable leadership role, preferably within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector
  • Expertise in implementing and sustaining corporate standards in manufacturing processes
  • Adaptability in dynamic manufacturing environments
  • Analytical mind set, conceptual thinking and quick comprehension as well as enthusiasm and creativity
  • Excellent people management with strong team approach and communication skills
  • Experience in facilitating training and mentorship programs to empower employees in their roles
  • Hands-on, down to earth, and proactive mentalityWillingness to travel as required
