An exciting opportunity exists for an Electrical Engineer in the Upper Tumut region of Snowy Hydro. This role will provide engineering support to assist in the identification of root causes of defects, and develop and implement immediate, interim and long term regional plant improvement projects and strategies. Aiding in safely delivering the required availability and reliability of regional assets in the most effective and efficient way. Working a 4 day week as part of a Drive-in, Drive-out roster in Cabramurra NSW, this opportunity offers the perfect balance for work and play.

Responsibilities:

AS AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Identifying, developing and implementing technical solutions/plant changes, and coordinate tests and evaluations of plant condition
Performing timely defect & breakdown investigation, fault finding, rectification and or recommendations as required on regional assets such as generating, transmission, control & data systems, and auxiliaries
Analysing reliability data to identify trends, update priorities, and to improve and/or critique root cause analysis
Completing project and modernisation work, utilising continuous improvement and project management techniques from design stage to implementation and standardisation
Coordinating and undertake/assist complex designs, design modifications to existing plant, and modifications to PLC based control and SCADA systems
Undertaking engineering level plant condition assessments of major assets as well as lead and develop condition monitoring activities and programs.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

A bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering
Demonstrated experience in plant reliability and heavy industry desired
Demonstrated experience in computer programming and PLC systems
Knowledge of hydro plant and control systems is preferred
Knowledge of maintenance program requirements, analysis techniques and maintenance management practices
Demonstrated fault-finding and plant diagnostic skills
The ability to communicate with a range of personnel to provide a consistent, reliable and high level of service
Computer skills involving spreadsheets and statistical analysis
Knowledge of WH&S, EEO and environmental policies and standards
This is an ongoing full time permanent role (not working on our Snowy 2.0 project)
