Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is a Japanese manufacturing company. They are looking for a Plant Engineer.
【 What you will be doing 】
Arrange equipment meeting:
- Prepare equipment meeting material for discussion
Communication between Japanese vendors and local stakeholders:
- Communicate with Japanese vendors for new equipment/parts purchasing
- Negotiation for equipment/parts purchasing
- Japan vendors auditing
- Arrange Japan vendor-related schedules
Design Review:
- Arrange design review meeting schedule
- Prepare design review material for discussion
- Chair design review meeting
- Conduct design review and prepare design review document for approval
Project Management:
- Communicate with overseas or local vendors for project management
- Project-related budget control
- Project quality, safety, and schedule control
- Work together with the vendor, equipment owner and TES to create an equipment PM checklist before new equipment handover to the owner section
Vendor management:
- Qualify new vendors
- Conduct audit for existing vendors
- Compare different vendors for quality and cost control
USP Engineering Standard creation:
- Translate UMTES into English
- Create USPES per UMTES, Singapore Authority requirements, USP practice, etc
- Share created USPES with related sections
- Conduct training for related sections
Modification:
- Understand the process and existing equipment performance
- Propose modifications to resolve current problems, including process or equipment improvement
- Discuss with vendor and related sections to carry out modification
- Assessment of the modification result
- Follow up cases closing of the modifications
Support spare parts management and maintenance works:
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment and parts purchasing
- Support TES to resolve equipment problems
- Conduct training for troubleshooting skill improvement
REQUIREMENT
【 What they are looking for 】
(Must)
- Degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant working experience
OR Diploma in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant working experience
- Fluent in English and Japanese (JLPT N2 and above) Listening/Writing/Speaking is essential to liaise with Japanese-speaking counterparts
(Preferable)
- Study or work experience in Japan with a good understanding of Japanese working culture
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Good presentation skills to share and brief co-workers and management with clarity
- Intermediate MS Office skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Able to carry out hands-on work
Have leadership and supervision skills to guide and coach team members.
