The Boeing Company is in search of a Plant Facilities Electromagnetic Test Technician in Seattle, WA.
You will be responsible for performing electromagnetic testing of plant facilities and certification testing on Radio Frequency (RF) shield rooms. You will be responsible for conducting interference resolution and site surveys on shop and office areas that use wireless equipment systems. You will work with Engineering and Business Partners to analyze requirements and propose solutions to ensure acceptable results.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Currently possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 30 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces and above ceilings
- 1+ years of experience working from heights & using fall protection equipment with weight limitations
- 1+ years of experience using electronic test equipment
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Fundamental knowledge of shielding principles, standards, and practices
- Specific knowledge and expertise in electromagnetic shielding and testing
- Knowledge with the fundamentals of wireless systems
- Experience in commercial and/or industrial shielding
- Experience working with Business Partners and customers in gathering spectrum and equipment data
Responsibilities:
- Determine and set up in a valid test configuration, test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, synthesized signal generators, microwave traveling-wave-tube amplifiers, etc. to determine shielding effectiveness of RF shielded rooms
- Make minor structural changes to achieve proper shielding effectiveness and recommend other changes as necessary
- Perform ambient electromagnetic site surveys and electromagnetic field assessments using appropriate test equipment
- Provide electromagnetic interference analysis and assist in determining elimination techniques
- Give technical assistance and guidance to employees assigned to assist in performing electromagnetic testing
