Overview:
I am proud to be partnering with my client, a global leader in the energy transition, in looking for a Plant Performance Engineer for their O&M team.
Involved in every stage of renewable projects from development, construction to operation and maintenance, my client is a leading player in the Renewable Energy sector in the Australian market.
The role
The Plant Manager will oversee the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the Solar Plant. This role involves ensuring that the plant is maintained in alignment with the Annual Maintenance Plan, adhering to all recommendations provided by the equipment manufacturers, and fulfilling all contractual obligations outlined in the O&M contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the assigned plants.
  • Continuously review plant equipment and system operations to minimise unplanned downtime, proactively address issues, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Enhance overall efficiency and value by collaborating with maintenance teams across the fleet.
  • Execute dispatch obligations for each resource, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Encourage the maintenance team to optimise plant availability and value during maintenance activities.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the operating contract, protocols, transmission, scheduling entity handbooks, operating agreements, and all applicable standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with the Control Room/CPU/Admin team & site technicians efficiently and effectively to reduce the plant down times.
  • Handling and assisting with warranty related issues.
  • Participate in the weekend/holiday working roster.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ utility scale solar plant operational and troubleshooting experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of PV and renewable energy power plants, WHS&E compliance, management, operations, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating with network service providers & AEMO.
  • Understanding of contracts and demonstrated comprehension of agreement requirements.
  • Proven experience in efficiently executing tasks, as defined by a maintenance plan.
  • Experience in people management and third-party contractors.
  • HV switching and switching sheet preparation.
  • Understanding of solar farm
  • Valid Driver’s license
