The Platform Engineering capability within Digital is a growing team of people dedicated to ensuring that the technologies selected and the way that they are implemented meet the business objectives of our clients. There are several disciplines within the Digital Customer Experience team: delivery, business, integration and digital architects and technical managers, and many of our people can perform in more than one of these roles.
Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

As a consultancy firm, we have a broad set of clients and therefore a diverse set of technologies and tools are commonly used. You might not have experience in all the tools, technologies or skills we list above, but we hope you have some of them, and are willing to learn the others as needed. Technology does not stand still, nor do we.

• Technical lead, project, and client management.
• DevOps and Solution Architect, a subject matter expert (SME).
• Using agile project management tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps
• Public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Continuous Integration systems such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, CircleCI or Github Actions

YOUR ROLE

The role of our Platform Engineers is to focus on delivering highly available, scalable enterprise solutions on cloud native platforms as part of dedicated or cross-function teams to engineer modern solutions based on business goals with varying levels of a DevOps maturity. You will be able to draw on the huge body of knowledge within Capgemini to achieve great results for your client, and part of your own personal growth.

• Winning new business and collaborating with the go-to-market team.
• Actively working with our clients on digital IaaS, PaaS, SaaS solution strategies, designs, and delivery programmes, transforming their business by delivering solutions and methodologies following best practice.
• Implementation and maintenance of platforms and services based on the business requirements, constraints and strategies.
• In time you will be able to create, maintain and enhance standards for delivery for business functionality, as well as developing, maintaining, and enhancing design standards and patterns for infrastructure and system components.
• Applying technical innovation with contribution towards internal projects and client bids in order to win new business.
• Contribute towards the business units’ strategy directly through your own personal growth, alongside coaching and mentoring of our junior talent.
