ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you a Platform Engineer with strong, contemporary cloud expertise?
Are you looking for an opportunity to leave your mark, and drive transformational change that will impact how you and your loved ones receive healthcare across NSW?
At NSW Health Pathology, we are currently undertaking our largest digital health transformation initiative to date. We are on the hunt for a capable platform engineering professional for a once in a lifetime opportunity to contribute to the deployment of cutting-edge data and technology solutions across the state. We value candidates with strong critical and scientific thinking and a healthy dose of creative problem solving. Prior experience in the healthcare domain is an added plus.
Ideally be based in either Sydney or Newcastle. You’ll work in a collaborative, inclusive, and dynamic environment, and be part of a team of 15 data engineers, analysts, and data scientists who are applying cutting edge technology to build solutions that directly impact patient care and health outcomes across the state. You’ll also have access to a great group of mentors and thought leaders across Microsoft and AWS technology stacks who, in combination with a rich set of premium online content and strong relationships with our technology partners, will work with you to rapidly build your skillset to the next level.

Responsibilities:

As a member of the NSW Health pathology Data and Insights team, you’ll support our information infrastructure, most notably our cloud-based Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), a statewide data Lakehouse which serves the need of the entire state, as well as the delivery of data and insights using this asset.

This will include;

  • Providing leadership and day to day management of the data and insights team’s platforms including cloud and edge computing systems.
  • Providing expert guidance on the design, development and implementation of novel data and information tools and platforms aligned with NSW Health Pathology Business and ICT Strategy
  • Ensure that platforms satisfy the business needs of the enterprise with respect to performance, availability, capacity, value and security.

Please note that as part of the recruitment process, you’ll be asked to complete a brief take home assignment to evaluate your skills.
