Rate of Pay: $19.53 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits
Hours of Work: A minimum of 10.5 hrs/week for July and August

SUMMARY

This position will set up and deliver the Play in the Park Program. This position facilitates and supervises various fun and safe recreation activities for the public who attend the program.

KEY SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to work with children, youth and adults in a public setting.
  • Experience leading recreational programs.
  • Excellent customer service, communication (both verbal and written), organizational, interpersonal and public relations skills and experience are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaises and maintains on-going communication with the Play in the Park Program Leader to provide support and assistance to ensure smooth programming and operational objectives are achieved.
  • Engage with the public by leading and implementing activities and games.
  • Facilitates and supports participation and adapting activities in a safe, healthy environment.
  • Acts as a liaison between the general public and Panorama Recreation and provide information about the program when necessary.
  • Ensures the mobile unit and event equipment is well maintained and stored in a tidy manner.
  • Sets up equipment, not limited to large inflatable, tent, games, and takes down equipment after the event.
  • Works as a team to complete set up of all equipment needed to run the event and takes equipment down when it is over.
  • Uses a dolly to move equipment from trailer to the event venue and in the reverse at the conclusion of the event.
  • Unloads equipment, by hand or using a dolly, to set up program and takes downs equipment to load after the event. Knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Assist in responding to emergency situations, including first aid.
  • Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
