JOB OVERVIEW
Join Our Dynamic Team: Lead the Future of Prevention and Management of Aggression Training!
The Prevention and Management of Aggression (PMA) Team trains over 5,000 staff. We have two dedicated training venues across Norfolk and Suffolk to deliver this highly specialised training.
We’re looking for an experienced leader and manager with a strong background in training and education.
You will need to have extensive experience in leading on and delivering a Bild accredited Restrictive Interventions (Restraint) training program.
We would like our PMA Lead Practitioner to:
Deliver Excellence - Lead the PMA team to provide high-quality training that exceeds statutory regulations and national best practice standards.
Collaborate - Work with stakeholders to enhance safety for staff and service users.
Drive Accreditation – Oversea the completion of our Bild accreditation and ensure the Trusts compliance with the Restraint Reduction Network Standards and Mental Health Units (Use of Force) Act 2018.
Innovate with Data - Use analytical skills to present impactful data to drive change.
Travel - You will be required to travel across Norfolk and Suffolk to deliver training and attend clinical venues to support NSFT’s shared vision.

Responsibilities:
MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB
The post holder will:
- Develop and lead PMA training programmes within NSFT to meet the needs of the service that are based on national standards and guidance related to the delivery of PMA training.
- Fully participate in the development or trial of new clinical service innovations, which are evidence based.
- Observe the requirements of the code of practice Mental Health Act 2007 and embed them in training delivery.
- Maintain own expert status by developing training and improvement projects underpinned by research and legislation, participation in research as required and directed by the Professional Lead for StatMand Training.
- Provide expertise, support and advice to clinical practitioners regarding PMA interventions and techniques.
- Work alongside service managers and team leaders to identify emerging trends and areas for development within teams related to PMA and risk by means of qualitative audit.
- Provide clinical input into the Trust’s mandatory training programme, linking training into practice and practice into the current training provided.
- Provide expert advice, support and information to the organisation relating to PMA.
- Interpret national guidelines and inform local policies and procedures to achieve best practice.
- Report to the Professional Lead for StatMand Training to review, analyse and audit training and to discuss emerging national trends in relation to PMA.
