We have an exciting opportunity for PMO Analyst to support the Transformation function, ensuring workstreams / programmes are delivered successfully at minimal risk.
The PMO Analyst works within the CMO function supporting key stakeholders with Risk and Assurance activities. The role will be working on a hybrid basis so you could be based anywhere but would be expected to travel to the Head Office in Carlisle at least twice per month.
In this role you’ll be responsible for providing PMO advice and guidance across in-flight and pipeline projects including plan production as well as creating robust and effective Project/ Programme/ Portfolio schedule-based reporting and MI.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

Main responsibilities include:

Planning

  • Provide planning advice and guidance across in-flight and pipeline projects including plan production.
  • Creation of robust and effective Project/ Programme/ Portfolio schedule-based reporting and MI.
  • Facilitation of planning workshops, including supporting Project Managers with project plans and Plan of a Page for key milestones.
  • Management of complex cross Project/ Programme/ Portfolio dependencies.
  • Project tolerance levels are understood depending on the project lifecycle, identifying planning scope, dependencies, opportunities, constraints, risks, and issues.

PMO Services

  • Provide 1st line support to the projects/ programmes within the portfolios, dealing with queries and reviewing and providing feedback on project artefacts.
  • Support the projects to ensure adherence with the Change Policy, Framework and Governance structure.
  • Undertake regular project review sessions to ensure standards are being met.
  • Manage portfolio level controls (RAIDDA, plans etc). Manage portfolio level governance, reporting and communications.
  • To keep up to date with the standards and processes that are set out by the Change Management Office.

Governance and Assurance

  • Support with the management of Risk and Assurance governance meetings, ensure Decisions, Actions and Lessons Learned are documented and tracked. Distribute consolidated Risk and Assurance reporting.
  • Provide secretariat role by supporting packs for SLT/Board, Board Committees and CTO Risk Committee in line with agreed SLAs.

Change Control

  • Ensure CITO Change Control process is met to aid timely and effective decision making.
  • Ensure decision to implement change are taken by those with authority to do so and decisions are supported by an auditable record demonstrating that the impacts from the change have been assessed, appropriate options considered and benefits assessed.

You’ll have significant previous experience in a similar role within a PMO/Project environment, with previous experience in project delivery within financial services and transformation programmes. We’d also love to see:

  • Experience in Microsoft Project Plan (MPP) and knowledge of Project Management Methodology and Change Management techniques.
  • Understanding in delivery methodology.
  • Strong MS package experience necessary (Excel, Powerpoint & Project).
  • Excellent level of attention to detail.
  • A strong drive to deliver change; a pro-active, pragmatic and dynamic approach to work.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate key messages to project teams.
  • Resilience and the ability to work effectively under challenge.
  • A questioning mindset with a focus on root cause investigation and an aptitude for continuous improvement.
  • Natural curiosity and confidence to challenge existing practices
