DETAILS
- Department: Total Quality Management
- Schedule: Full-Time, Day shift
- Monday - Friday from 7:30am - 4:00pm
- Hospital: Ascension Sacred Heart Bay Hospital
- Location: Panama City, Florida
REQUIREMENTS
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Medical Technologist (ASCP) credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
- Laboratory Tech credentialed from the American Board of Bioanalysis (AAB) preferred.
- Laboratory Tech credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
- Medical Lab Scientist (ASCP) credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
- Medical Tech credentialed from the American Board of Bioanalysis (AAB) preferred.
- Medical Tech credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) preferred.
Education:
- Associate’s degree in medical technology, medical laboratory scientist, human sciences; or completed a military 50-60 week technician program and meets the minimum CLIA requirements; OR education qualifications as stated per CLIA requirements required.
Work Experience:
- 2 years experience required.
Responsibilities:
Manage instruments, competencies, quality control documenting and reagent/supplies for units performing various types of bedside testing.
- Provide guidance and support to assigned staff performing point of care (POC).
- Create and/or assist with training, and ensures appropriate stock of reagents, quality control materials, etc.
- Monitor competencies and is available for follow up when lock out occurs.
- Monitor middleware for inappropriate barcode scanning, testing and resulting errors, and reports as appropriate.
- May be scheduled for regular bench assignments in any department as needed.
- Oversee and audit analyzer/cartridge failures and arranges for service or replacements.
