PROGRAM SUMMARY

KBR proudly serves as the performance-based contractor for Base Operations Services at the Aegis Ashore Missile Defence System in Naval Support Facility (NSF) Redzikowo, Poland. This program focuses on the deployment and operational management of the sophisticated Aegis system, designed to intercept, and neutralize short- and medium-range ballistic missiles. Our primary mission is to ensure seamless base operations, directly enhancing strategic defence capabilities.
NSF Redzikowo, housing the second Aegis Ashore system, plays a crucial role in NATO’s defence against missile threats. Commissioned in September, the facility emphasizes our commitment to supporting key military infrastructures. Its strategic location northwest of Warsaw, near the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, positions it strategically in European defence.
Our involvement in NSF Redzikowo includes comprehensive Base Operations Services, showcasing KBR’s expertise in managing complex military facilities. The base incorporates essential infrastructure, such as administrative offices, housing, dining facilities, security buildings, and athletic facilities—all maintained to the highest standards.

JOB SUMMARY

Experienced Power Plant Service Technician specializing in Cummins diesel engines for backup power generators of 2000 KW or more. With a high school diploma and 2 years of relevant experience, adept at maintaining and troubleshooting 8 MW Power Plants. Proficient in performing run and load tests, preventative maintenance, and repairing diesel generators. Skilled in systematically troubleshooting and repairing various components, including gas compressors, head gaskets, seals, bearings, water pumps, fuel pumps, torque heads, belts, and hoses. Well-versed in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs, creating critical spare parts lists, and managing requisitions. Capable of testing batteries, fuel coolant, and oil, and coordinating oil sample analyses. Collaborative and adaptable, able to work with diverse, international teams and electricians. Knowledgeable in operating Power Management Systems (PMS) through computer interfaces. Over three years of hands-on experience with generators exceeding 2MW, including the maintenance of bulk fuel storage tanks and associated systems. Committed to adhering to safety protocols and ensuring optimal power generation system functionality.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.
  • Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity.
  • Must possess security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain.
  • Possess a minimum of three years of experience with large-size generators exceeding 2MW.
  • All maintenance trade personnel certifying or inspecting repair or maintenance work that does not require an inspector certified by a governing directive shall be qualified at the journeyman level

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and provide direct field technical support for Cummins diesel engines in a Power Plant.
  • Conduct run and load tests, preventative maintenance, and repairs on diesel generators.
  • Systematically troubleshoot and repair generators, ensuring functionality of accessory equipment.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance (PM) program in accordance with O&M standards.
  • Create critical spare parts lists and initiate requisitions for required maintenance and spare parts.
  • Replace and/or repair components such as gas compressors, head gaskets, seals, bearings, water pumps, fuel pumps, torque heads, belts, and hoses.
  • Test batteries, fuel coolant, and oil; ship oil samples for analysis if necessary.
  • Collaborate with a diverse, international, and multi-skilled workforce, working closely with electricians.
  • Maintain diesel generators, including 8 bulk fuel storage tanks with motorized valves, control and monitoring panel, fuel forwarding pump, and fuel polishing system.
  • Operate Power Management System (PMS) via computer screen.
