Description:

We are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist for this role with at least one years experience at a Band 6.
You will provide a telephone advice service to police officers, speak to individuals who are with the police and distressed and consider the best way to support the individual at that particular time. The aim of the service is to avoid detaining an individual under S136 if an alternative service would provide a less restrictive option. You will be supported in your decision making by Band 7 clinicians who are available 24hrs
You will liaise with clinicians in the CRHT, CMHT SPoA, CMHSOPS, Safe Haven and Acute hospitals as well as the Police and will also be supported by a Band 4 Senior Support Worker who will manage the patient flow through the Places of Safety and support the phone lines.
You will liaise with the AMPH service.
Main duties of the job
The role provides the opportunity to use your clinical skills in a unique way.
The ability to speak and communicate clearly over the telephone
Duties of the role include liaising with partner agencies.
Completing clear clinical records and maintaining clinical standards
Supporting police officers in their decision making by providing them with clear and current information
Completing audits as required
Liaising with the Places of Safety and AMPH service to ensure assessments are completed in a timely manner
