Job Description
The role of Policy Advisor is a rare opportunity to influence material outcomes for the Australian consumer. Reporting to the Policy Manager, this role will be responsible for delivering research, analysis and policy advice that draws on external influences and evidence from complaints data and from stakeholder experience.
In consultation with the senior leaders and the policy team, you will provide policy advice and contribute to the preparation of AFCA submissions on key issues as required in response to inquiries, consultations and policy reform proposals.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in public policy, law or a related field.
  • Experience in policy advice or analysis in the public, private or not-for-profit sector.
  • Excellent time management skills, stakeholder management experience and the ability to work in collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clear, concise and effective documents for a range of audiences and the ability to work cooperatively and to provide support and assistance to team members and other colleagues and work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the political environment and policy and sound understanding of the financial services environment and regulatory regime.
