Description:

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to conduct research, understand and apply legislative and regulatory requirements in the development of policy Solutions-focused and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Sound judgement, personal integrity and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent written communication skills, with strong editing, formatting and proof-reading
  • Well-developed project management and coordination skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a well-developed capacity for effectively managing relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Previous experience in developing or implementing organisational policies in a similar setting is desirable, but not essential
  • Understanding of the risks and challenges associated with the management and operations of large sporting venues is desirable, but not essential

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The purpose of this position is to facilitate the review, revision and implementation of SSCT’s policies and procedures by working with the business to identify and address policy gaps and opportunities for improvement and by providing high quality project management support.

AS A POLICY AND COMPLIANCE BUSINESS PARTNER YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Collaborate with policy owners and experts to review, draft, edit, and consolidate policies, procedures, and related documents
  • Conduct research and verify information to support policy development, including compliance and risk obligations and incident/complaints data analysis
  • Utilize government templates and model policies for policy development
  • Apply naming conventions, document control standards, and policy approval processes
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback, audit recommendations, and best practices into policy development
  • Develop and maintain a project plan for continuous review and improvement of SSCT policies and procedures
  • Lead the development and communication of implementation plans, addressing staff learning and development needs
  • Develop and report on project timelines, task lists, and status updates.
  • Convene project and working group meetings as needed
  • Collaborate with the People Support team, SSCT’s Venues, Risk and Safety Committee, OHS Committee, and union representatives on policy changes
  • Support risk management by participating in incident management teams as directed by the Manager of Compliance and Risk
