Description:

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

As the Policy Officer you will make a difference by supporting Adult social care with monitoring and managing strategic, operational and policy implementation and achievement of targets within the service area for Adult Social Care. You will ensure that the Adult Social Care service is compliant with our statutory duties under the Care Act and other key legislation.

What you will be doing

  • On a daily basis you will review and refresh existing policies and procedures within scheduled review periods or in response to changes in legislation.
  • It will be your responsibility to consult with service users; carers and multi agencies (ie: health and voluntary sector) to assist in developing processes and procedures.
  • You will need to provide information for public access with regards to accessibility and clarity of language and target audiences.
  • A considerable part of this role you will coordinate performance monitoring of all Adult Social Care services plans and policies as appropriate.
  • Within the role you will develop and implement online toolkits and resources to support new services
  • You will be required to attend meetings with stakeholders and local providers at alternative locations.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • It is essential that you have a degree in relevant professional disciplines (e.g. DipSW, CQSW, CSS, Occupational Therapy).
  • We will require you to have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Care Act; Mental Capacity Act, Human Rights Act and other relevant legislation
  • You will have the ability to undertake and evaluate research and reports and disseminate the same to target audiences.
  • You will have experience of coordinating specialist projects, programmes and activities.
  • You will be a skilled communicator, used to working together with and influencing colleagues and partners at all levels.
  • Ideally, you will have experience of working within adult social care
