Description:

PREPARED FOR POLICY PERFECTION: YOUR SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as nursing, health administration, or business (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in policy writing, preferably in the aged care industry.
  • Strong understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely for diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Google suite of applications.
  • Passion for aged care and a commitment to providing high-quality care to residents.
  • Deep understanding of, and ability to apply environmental context, data, and legislation.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, revise, and edit policies and procedures pertaining to all aspects of aged care, including resident care, clinical services, human resources, finance, and risk management.
  • Conduct research and analysis to stay updated on changes in legislation, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure policies align with the organization’s mission, values, and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as clinical teams, managers, and executives, to gather input and ensure policies are practical and effective.
  • Regularly review policies to ensure they remain current and relevant.
  • Provide training and education to staff on new and updated policies.
  • Maintain a comprehensive policy library, ensuring all documentation is organized, accessible, and up to date.
  • Develop and deliver training materials to staff on new and updated policies.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of policies through review and evaluation processes.
  • Contribute to enhancing the overall quality and effectiveness of the organization’s policy framework.

  • Resolve policy issues within agreed timeframes.
