Working within the Policy Reviews and Inquiries team, the Policy Officer will provide policy and project management support, including preparation of high-quality briefings, papers, reports and submissions, along with contribution to progress and status reporting and development and implementation of identified projects and activities.

Day to day responsibilities include:

• Support the management of various projects relating to policy reform within the Policy and Planning Division.
• Prepare and maintain relevant project artefacts in accordance with relevant Project Management Framework/tools, including development of Project Management Plans, project controls, status reports, ensuring delivery to time, scope and budget.
• Contribute to and develop high quality briefings, papers, reports and submissions for a range of audiences, including Cabinet committees, the Minister, executives, governance bodies, partner agencies and stakeholders.
• Review, analyse and interpret recommendations from required reviews and inquiries and legal policy materials and support the development of strategic policy advice for senior stakeholders.
• Organise project related meetings and workshops, including preparation of agenda, meeting materials and minutes.
