Summery:
Are you passionate about public health and eager to contribute to a safer community? We’re seeking a dedicated Port Health Support Assistant to join Belfast City Council’s team at the Port of Belfast. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring compliance with food importation regulations and upholding standards of public and animal health.
Your Duties:
- Provide administrative support for Port Health services.
- Maintain accurate records and databases.
- Issue necessary documents and certificates.
- Handle complaints and enquiries professionally.
- Assist with enforcement duties and legal correspondence.
- Analyse service performance data and compile reports.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline processes.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and the public.
- Support Port Health activities, including inspections and checks.
Your Profile:
Requirements:
- Minimum of five GCSEs (grades A - C) including English, or equivalent qualifications.
- At least one year’s experience in general administrative office duties.
- Experience in implementing business processes and handling technical information.
- Proficiency in IT software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
- Excellent communication and customer care skills.
- Strong organisational and teamwork abilities.
Short-listing Criteria:
- Additional preference may be given to candidates with experience in business regulation, revenue and customs, agri-food, logistics, or trade law.
Your Benefits:
- £14,44 per hour.
- Pension Contribution.
Additional Information:
- Full time, Temporary.
- 37 hours per week, 08:00-22:30.
