Description:

We’re recruiting for a Portfolio Analyst to join our Commerical Underwriting Team.

Supporting the Underwriting Performance Manager, and a wider team of portfolio analysts, you will deliver tasks for accounts as assigned to support the Underwriting function within AXA Ireland to achieve overall financial targets with key responsibilities;

  • Regular production and analysis of core datasets and reports.
  • Data preparation, including extraction of target data from multiple databases, integration of multiple datasets, and creation of derived variables, the application of business rules, and quality control checks.
  • Developing and analysing product profitability and growth metrics using appropriate and innovative statistical techniques and visualisations.
  • Communicating meaningful observations and recommendations from analysis undertaken to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Developing pricing proposals and analytical tools to maximise performance.
  • Working closely with the wider Commercial Lines Pricing and Underwriting team to deliver projects and new initiatives in line with strategic priorities.
  • Exploring datasets (internal/external) which can help price and underwrite risks more effectively.

YOUR PROFILE

  • 3 years’ experience in data analysis, preferably with understanding of the insurance industry, including external influences.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills with an ability to prioritise workload and deliver on objectives.
  • Detail oriented and exhibiting highly effective organisational skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Working knowledge of data sources, tools, statistical analysis and data management software (eg SAS/R/Python)
  • Passion for empirical research and for answering complex questions with data.
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
  • Self-motivation with drive, enthusiasm and commitment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment.
    As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom.
