Description:
Position Overview
The portfolio management team in RGA’s investment division are at the heart of the department working with credit research and trading, alternative asset class managers (both internal and external) and business partners across the business and geographies to ensure portfolios meet their long term goals. Portfolio analysts provide crucial daily support to portfolio managers in monitoring portfolios and producing regular reporting to a high standard; working closely with teams such as accounting, treasury, operations and risk. The role is suited someone who has a passion for the broad, yet detailed responsibilities involved in all aspects of insurance portfolio management.
Responsibilities
- Provides crucial daily portfolio monitoring across a detailed array of portfolios holding public and private assets, with multi-facetted guideline and compliance constraints
- Development, maintenance and enhancement of tools to support GPM team
- Proactive approach on new frameworks to improve active portfolio management framework
- Point person on the team liaising with internal stakeholders on data requests and operational considerations
- Responsible for cash management
- Tracks guideline/compliance management issues and status
- Ensure accurate data is reflected in portfolio management system
- Develop investment system expertise to support portfolio management process
- Support regular and ad-hoc Investments reporting to a high standard
- Maintain and enhances external manager due diligence, governance and reporting
- Administrative tasks and organization for the team
Requirements
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Advanced understanding of investment/market concepts
- Basic knowledge of asset liability management
- Basic knowledge of portfolio and fixed income analytics (i.e. sector weightings, portfolio duration, performance attribution, convexity and term structure of interest rates)
- Basic negotiation skills to assist with internal/external discussions
- Customer relationship management and change management skills.
