About the Role
Responsible in portfolio management at enterprise level by applying ‘best-practice’ Project Delivery and management approach to support and ensure standard project management framework, process and tools are used for project delivery.
Position Objective:

Main focus of this role under prevailing corporate priorities is accountability for the following:-

  • Apply project portfolio management framework as the governance of Project Management Office (PMO) across organization adhering to the standards provided in project and program management
  • Roll down PMO standards to respective project / divisional level in leading business initiatives for successful and quality implementation
  • Support decision making on project prioritization and implementation as well as improvement recommendation required to mitigate project risk and improve investment returns
  • Develop project portfolio reporting required for internal and external stakeholders on periodic basis
  • Consolidate, verify and analyze key project & program details and implement administrative functions within PMO
  • Track, monitor and analyze funding pool to ensure funding is utilize effectively to deliver maximum investment return
  • Ensure compliance with project & program management standards, policies, procedures, and templates are adhered at project & program level
  • Utilize project portfolio management tool established in the organization to standardize reporting and stakeholder management

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting product managers with successful delivery of their projects / programs, leading to the growth of a business
  • Supply right level of information to assist decision making on project prioritization, implementation and improvement recommendation to mitigate project/program risk and improve investment returns
  • Support portfolio management activities in the entire project lifecycle – from concept, feasibility & financing; through planning, statutory process & design; into procurement, construction, commissioning & operational readiness
  • Track projects’ performance including project financials, resource management, vendor management during implementation stage additional to project progression and critical metrics and benefit realization post implementation
  • Develop status report required for collaborators’ update
  • Cultivate and support an ethical culture to fulfill legal and compliance requirements, and encourage integrity amongst collaborators
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements
  • Demonstrate deep technical capabilities and professional knowledge, ability to quickly assimilate to new knowledge, and possess in depth business insight

Financial and Non-Financial Measures:
Performance Metrics: Based on Performance Management goals set and Critical Capabilities (typically project based delivery metrics, budget management)
Communication Requirements:

Have insights and know how to handle various collaborators at a timely manner to get agreement, negotiate decisions and influence divisional change

  • Internal: All level of collaborators from senior leadership to working level.
  • External: Vendors, consulting firms, implementation partners, business partners, distributors (life planners/brokers/bancassurance financial planner)

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess Bachelor/Master Degree or equivalent experience from a recognized University. Certified Project Management, SCRUM or AGILE practitioner will be at advantage.
  • At least 2 - 4 year(s) of related working experience is required for this position. Preferably from large financial, telecommunication, health service or information technology industries.
  • Strong collaborators’ management and people influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to establish positive relationships within short period of time and maintain optimally.
  • Able to independently implement projects within scope, budget, encouraged output with excellence.
  • Detailed orientated, and keenness for evident by numbers and analytics.
  • Flexible and adaptable to project environment to accept the change.
  • Experience with large-scale project / program implementation and familiar with project management methodology & lifecycle
