About The Job

In this role, as Portfolio Manager you will lead the sensing and control aspects of Alfa Laval’s global Valve & Automation business within the Hygienic Fluid Handling business unit. Your responsibilities will focus on:

  • Evaluate and analyze the competitiveness of relevant product portfolios, focusing on customer and industry needs while benchmarking against competitors.
  • Collaborate with our industry and channel management to define and support initiatives for effective business development of the product portfolio.
  • Identify areas for improvement and opportunities within the automation portfolio, including supply chain optimization, technological advancements, new product development, product discontinuations, and commercial initiatives.
  • Translate market and customer demands into actionable product strategies, developing business cases and commercial specifications accordingly.
  • Develop and implement launch strategies, collaborating with the Central Marketing team to execute global product launches effectively.
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for selected countries, overseeing the entire Alfa Laval Valves and Automation portfolio.
  • Deliver external product training sessions for customers to enhance their understanding and utilization of the products.
  • Contribute as a key member of the established global product and portfolio team, actively involved in shaping the roadmap, prioritizing initiatives, and managing projects within the Alfa Laval Valves and Automation portfolio.

The position will be based in Kolding, Denmark. You should expect travel activity up to approximately 40-50 days a year.

A detail-oriented and proactive team player, you manage complex projects effectively and communicate well across functions. Your customer-centric approach ensures optimized product portfolios that meet industry demands and exceed expectations.
What you know
You have a background in electrical and/or automation engineering, complemented by commercial experience in the hygienic or pharmaceutical process industry. Ideally, you have worked in a similar role involving valves and valve control, with experience in commissioning, sales, or troubleshooting. You possess strong presentation skills, able to effectively convey technical information to a commercial audience. Additionally, familiarity with PLC programming, connectivity, and cloud-based solutions is highly desirable.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential. Proficiency in Spanish is an added advantage.
